APS raises the bar in re-manufacturing

A Melbourne-based company that has supplied more than 300,000 re-manufactured power steering exchange units in its 18 year history has spread its wings to Western Australia.

Australian Power Steering (APS), the country’s leading re-manufacturer of power steering, acquired Perth-based Auto Power Steering early this year to extend its distribution and customer service network. The eastern states are serviced from the Braeside plant in Victoria and by a Queensland division established in 1999.

The Perth operation will be a division of Australian Power Steering but will continue to trade under the well respected name, Auto Power Steering, under the guidance of its former owner, Stewart Elliott, who established the WA business more than twenty years ago.

The interstate expansion ensures a strong distribution network and improved service levels to its automotive wholesaler customers.

Sales & Marketing Manager, Kieran Field, told Aftermarket Magazine, “We are fortunate to have Stewart head up our Perth division as he brings to the company a wealth of invaluable knowledge and experience of the Western Australian market. The move strengthens day-to-day support for the company’s West Australian major wholesalers, Repco and Coventrys, with an increased product range and higher stock levels available for immediate delivery. The turn-around on specials through the workshop has also improved with additional plant and equipment.”

APS power steering products are now available from over 400 leading automotive wholesale outlets throughout Australia. APS is a QS9000 quality accredited company providing the security of a three year/100,000km warranty on all units and a toll free technical help line.
