APS make key engineering appointment
Harry Faeller, a highly qualified and internationally experienced
engineer with a strong automotive background, has been appointed
to the position of Engineering Manager at Australian Power
Steering.
This key position became vacant with Mark Byford recently
stepping up to take control of the company on the retirement
of the company’s founder, John Byford.
Harry commenced his career as an apprentice toolmaker
with GM Opel in Germany, moving on to prototype tooling
and prototype production followed by a mechanical engineering
degree in the early 70’s. With the degree behind him
Harry was then involved in mechanical product design and
development including vehicle interior design with the GM
company.
Immigrating to Australia in 1983, Harry worked as a skilled
contractor to the Australian car companies and industry
in general, operating his own business in Dandenong for
a number of years. He has played a pivotal role in major
projects involving the installation of robotics on production
lines plus factory automation for sub assemblies.
Harry’s expertise was keenly sought by German companies
setting up in China. He spent four years in senior technical
roles and general management appointments with component
suppliers to the car companies throughout Asia before recently
returning to Australia.
Harry’s depth of experience and engineering
expertise with the latest machines, technology and quality
systems, is set to further enhance the reputation of this
award winning company in precision component supply, product
development and new products.
